Therefore, for major animals and plants, identification is possible by comparing with registered DNA. If there is no registration, identification may be at the genus or family level. *Samples suspected of toxicity or infection (such as dead animals or birds) cannot be accepted. ◆ Identification using next-generation sequencers We compare the DNA sequences of the samples with the species registered in the database and report the identification results, findings, and the top five closely related species.
